How to get a good nights sleep
Your day doesn’t start when you wake up, it starts before you go to bed and (hopefully) get a good nights sleep
How you sleep is the biggest factor that will determine the outcome of your day
So if you’re having a bad nights sleep it’s incredibly hard to do the things you know you need to do
This compounds the problem, and makes you feel worse because you feel like you need more discipline or more willpower
When really, what you need, is more sleep!
Good news is it doesn’t have to be complicated, a big problem that might have an easy fix
We’re big on getting the foundations right when our Personal Training clients first start with us
That way, you reap the benefits of all the hard work you’re doing
Sleep is no exception
Start with these 4 things as the foundation for a good nights sleep
1) get 20-30 minutes of sunlight into your eyes a day (obviously not looking directly at the sun, just outside without windows or glasses blocking the light)
2) completely blackout your room at night (no phone light, little tv red light, no light coming in the windows)
3) turn off all devices an hour before bed
4) cool room, it should be a cold enough to need a blanket (not an issue at the moment)
Try at least 1 of these 4 things for a week and if you aren’t sleeping better I’ll eat this sled
